The 7 Rs of Logistics

So, what are these 7 Rs of Logistics?

We define them as to understand the Right product we deal in to get the Right quantity, in the Right condition, at the Right place, at the Right time, to the Right Customer, at the Right price.

This definition helps our team members to function and get things moving in a synchronised order.

If one follows the 7 R’s of logistics in their freight forwarding service, then they can lead the market by fulfilling the 3 conditions that are proposed by the client: Timeliness, Condition & Correct Place.

Another definition that also reflects the Rs of logistics by the Council of Logistics Management 1991 says

“The process of planning, implementing, and controlling the efficient and effective forward and reverse flow and storage of goods, services, and related information from point of origin to point of consumption for the purpose of meeting customer requirements.”

To Simplify Your Freight Solution, let us understand each of these 7 R’s clearly.

RIGHT PRODUCT
For us, the Right Product means to understand and have complete information about the kind of product we can deal with and help you ship it. It helps us with time and other resources.
RIGHT CUSTOMER
For a freight forwarder, understand their target market is quite important. It helps to come up with acquiring solutions to their problems. For us, we serve those who require to simplify freight solutions.
RIGHT QUANTITY
Understand the quantity helps in arranging many things, like warehouse needs, shipment size, and other resources. So every business has a different quantity requirement as per their operation and seasons of work. With modern systems, companies can predict these from their past records.
RIGHT TIME
In the world of freight and logistics management, time is very crucial to all. Delivery on time is what helps us achieve the most important factor – Customer Satisfaction. For this, we need to do prior planning and management so that no time barriers come between your customers and their products.
RIGHT CONDITION
Condition in which the product gets delivered is what terms the most to us. We take care that the product is intact and not broken. Every freight forwarder should do a proper R&D on how the product will be shipped and how its condition will be on delivery before offering services to their clients.

RIGHT PRICE
Price should be so that it takes care of all the management cost, yet is the lowest to serve the client’s requirement. So we take a keen look at the freight routes and determine the exact freight units for cost efficiency.

RIGHT PLACE
What’s the point of the above six R’s, if the product is not delivered to the right location, or say Place? For the product to deliver to the Right Place, we do a proper tracking of our shipment loads.
