Oman’s Port of Salalah had a surge of 28 percent to 1.17 million TEU in container throughput, up from 912,000 TEU for the same period last year. Despite the Covid-19’s impact on world trade, the outlook for Salalah’s container terminal continues to be positive. The major commodities handled at the terminal includes limestone, gypsum, methanol and cement, all of which are exported to nearby markets.
