Astral has expanding its intra-African air cargo network, to resolve the problem of capacity shortages caused by the pandemic. From the 25th May, the airline, headquartered in Nairobi, will add scheduled weekly flights to Lilongwe in Malawi, Lusaka in Zambia and Kismayo and Bosaso in Somalia. In addition, Astral already flies to the Democratic Republic of Congo, Mozambique, Eritrea, Burundi, Madagascar, Djibouti, Yemen and the Sudan. Astral also operates a fleet of B747-400F transporting perishable cargo from it Nairobi hub to Doncaster and Liege, with Network Airline Services and a fleet of regional freighters, which it operates to over 50 destinations in Africa.
