QATAR AIRWAYS CARGO is resuming its scheduled ‘bellyhold’ cargo operations to six cities in China and like several other airlines, it is utilizing passenger aircraft. The six cities are Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Chongqing and Hangzhou. The cargo flights will be operated on a turnaround basis, without any cabin crew nor passengers on board. This will create an additional 600 tones of weekly capacity, bringing the overall capacity out of the country to more than 1300 tons. This is the first Middle East airline to resume bellyhold operations to all of its destinations in China. This first move by Qatar Airways is to start reinstate the global supply chain.
